BYU COUGARS!

No, I did not graduate from BYU.  I did however grow up in an extremely blue family...if you catch my drift.  I made it to the first home game...against Utah.  We won't go there...it was UGLY to say the least.  But I had to get a BYU shirt to show my pride...

My cute parents...my dad has decided that he can't smile because everytime he does his eyes squint...like a chino!  Ha! Ha!

Last weekend the Cougars played Utah State...which I did attend.  I still love my Aggies, but because Emily my co-worker is a HUGE BYU HATER (not just a little...but A LOT!!) we had to play it up and that we did.  Coverd all of her pictures with BYU stuff and covered her husbands head with Bronco.  It was CLASSIC and gratefully the Cougars won!  I STILL BLEED BLUE!

In remembrance...

September 11, 2011 came at a very poigniant time in my life and the life of my family as well.  For those of you who don't know, my older brother Landon, has recently enlisted in the Army.  It was quite a shock to me and a few tears have been shed.  Shed while thinking about how long he will be gone, contemplating how the life of his family will change, wondering how my life will change and remembering those who have served and gone before.  I am extremely grateful for his upcoming service (even if that does mean his family will move for at least 4 years) and it has never hit so close to home to know and have a soldier in the family.  I know that his family will be blessed and have experiences that they would find no other way.  It was an honor to go up to the memorial in Sandy and walk around with the cutest kids ever!  They were both so sweet an very curious when we would read some of the cards about the people who died that day.  A was especially curious about a girl named Andrea, she couldn't figure out why Andrea was in heaven, it was so sweet. 

 Um...adroable?  YES!!  E really wanted to give A a piggy back ride. Precious!  You see why I will have a hard time when these little darlings move away? Not ready for that, yet!

  I hope and pray that we will each remember those who have gone before us and those who are fighting for our freedoms right now.  It is more special to me than ever before and I am grateful for that. God bless the U.S.A.!

If you haven't seen The Help, then you really should.  To finish off my birthday celebrations my best friend Crystal brought me breakfast from Kneaders (YUM!!) and then we went to see this movie on Saturday.  This is a well known quote from the movie and I like it along with everyone else.  We, as children of God, truly need to remember this, even when others are mean, even when we feel defeated and especially when we feel like we aren't good enough!  This was such a happy (and sad...it's definately one of those movies!) ending to such an AWESOME birthday week!  Thanks to everyone who made it so special!

I REALLY knew that my birthday week had ended today when I walked out of church and saw this...

Not the highlight of my day...or week!  But luckily some nice young men were able to help and saved the day!  Good thing there are some good ones still out there (I think...). 

Another post for another year...

Well, here it is folks!  I am now 27 and officially have internet again where I can blog...oh it is a glorious thing!  Or...is it?  No, it will be good to be back and write down some fun memories and hopefully keep you all caught up in my little life in Provo.  Yup, you read that right!!!  I now live in Provo.  Let's be honest, I didn't really want that to happen but it's a good thing we have a LOVING Heavenly Father who knows best.  Yes, He does and I am so grateful for that! After I moved to Pleasant Grove last year I had every intention of being there for awhile, and if I were to leave it would be to go north.  I just knew that I would NOT live in Provo, I was done with the college scene and BYU.  So I thought I would be in Salt Lake Valley right now.  But alas, here I am looking over the Utah Valley in a beautiful townhome and I couldn't be more excited about it.  It took me a while to be ok with moving down here but I LOVE my roommates (friends from BYU-I) and my ward seems to be great!  It is a perk to have Jen so close now.  So far, so good and I do feel good about it.  So that is my latest...and as mentioned before I am now 27.  I just celebrated my birthday and it was a memorable one.  Here are some pictures to prove it!! 

It was more like a Birthday weekend/week...it has been fabulous!  Saturday Aug. 13-I had a sleepover with one of my best friends, Heather Harward.  Got to sleep in, went and ate some lunch then we got pedicures.  Ahh, such a good time.  Later on we went to the Olive Garden (I know some of you really don't like that place, but seriously...I LOVE IT!)  Then the FUN began...we had gotten tickets to the Josh Groban tickets WAY back in March and were extatic when the night finally came.  He is a great performer!  He even sang Happy Birthday, yes, yes he did!  And have I mentioned what an amazing entertainer he is...SO GOOD!

Would you look at that profile!!??  YUM!!!  It was a blast, thanks Josh and Heather for making it a GREAT night and kick off to my birthday celebrations!

Sunday was the family party...we had dinner with family (a few more people that I expected) but it was great and I did indeed feel special.  Easton and Averie helped me blow out all my candles, good thing because that could have been a disaster trying to do that by myself.  ;)

Monday was my actual b-day and it was a pretty chill day.  It always amazes me how birthday's don't feel like any other day when you get older!  I took the day off work (because I could...so why not milk it for what it's worth...??? Yes, please!) and I headed to 7-peaks with Jen, a couple of her friends and my parents and Easton and Averie met up with us a little later.  It was so fun just to play and relax in the sun...pretty perfect!  My roommate Rebecca and I went to Malawi's Pizza in the Riverwoods for dinner it was delicious...you ought to try it out!  When we came home I saw a balloon and plant and then suddenly a bunch of people started singing happy birthday to me!  WOW!  It was an overload of love and I felt so special that Jen and Rebecca had planned this just for me.  They are so great!  I couldn't have asked for a better day.  Love you all!

Then today was the icing on the cake, Kimberlee from the PG ward, coordinated a party for me and all my friends out there.  It was great to see familiar faces again and know that I truly am loved.  So fun...I can't even wait for my next birthday.  Well, maybe I can but it was just so fun to celebrate that I don't want it to stop.  It has been an absolute blast and I am pretty sure this year is going to be pretty darn awesome as well!  I will put more pictures up as I get them.

And so it is...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!
